The material
Clarity, engineered
Gone are the bulky support beams and the unsightly bolts. The Blüthner Pianoforte Factory redefined how a transparent grand piano is made — and achieved the heart of the vision: the perception of weightless suspension.
The transparency is in the case. Never in the instrument.

The only truly transparent case
It appears weightless, floating and sleek — a sculpture of clarity. Photography can show you the case; only film shows what happens when the light moves, and what it is to watch an action work while it is being played.

The grand
A dramatic metallic pedestal that curves and splays into a V-toed aeronautic sculpture, beneath a matching lid set with clear acrylic panes. Made to order in ebony, white, navy, racing green, blue or red.

The upright
Its transparent body reveals the secret world inside the piano - hammers dancing in harmony with every note, letting you witness the very moment music is born. Even in silence, it captivates.

Transparency, more quietly
Modern technology, choice materials and a touch of magic transparency — manufactured under supervision, with a final quality inspection by German craftsmen.
Available in black, white, red and green, on the Irmler F148, F160 and F175 grands.

Written for interior designers, architects and project consultants. Every Crystal is built on a standard Blüthner scale, so the acoustic and dimensional data below is the same as the corresponding Blüthner model — the case is what changes.

Every Crystal is built in the same factory, by the same hands, as every other Blüthner — still owned by the family that founded it in 1853. Nothing about the clarity of the case is a shortcut. It is considerably harder to make.
