Piano Camp 2024 Launches

The beginning of an exciting musical journey. The first edition of PIANO CAMP officially begins, offering young Emirati talents a structured six-month program designed to support their artistic growth and musical development.

INTENSIVE WEEKLY TRAININGS BEGIN

A structured and hands-on learning experience begins as students embark on a schedule of individual piano lessons, group lectures in music theory and history, and interactive seminars. These sessions are designed to build a strong foundation in piano performance and technique, musical knowledge, and expression.

In addition, a special focus is placed on Arabic and Emirati music, allowing students to explore their cultural heritage and deepen their understanding of the region’s rich musical traditions

Monthly Recitals & Masterclasses

Each month, participants took part in masterclasses focused on piano and composition, where they gained valuable performance skills and deepened their understanding of the music-making process. These sessions offered direct interaction with experienced musicians and educators.

Students later showcased what they had learned through a series of recitals, presenting well-balanced piano programs that demonstrated their progress, technical development, and growing musical expression on stage.

MASTERCLASS WITH STEINWAY PRIZEWINNER JULIAN TREVELYAN

In February, students had the unique opportunity to work closely with Steinway Prizewinner Julian Trevelyan in a dynamic and engaging masterclass. Throughout the session, participants received personal feedback, explored interpretative ideas, and gained insight into the artistic and technical aspects of piano performance. The masterclass offered an inspiring environment that encouraged students to push their boundaries and refine their musical expression.

PARTICIPATION IN SIKKA FESTIVAL 2025

Piano Camp students were invited to perform at the SIKKA Art & Design Festival—one of Dubai’s most prominent cultural events celebrating local talent. Their participation marked a significant milestone, giving young Emirati pianists the opportunity to share their music with a wider audience in a vibrant and artistic setting. This experience not only highlighted their growth throughout the program but also allowed them to represent Piano Camp and contribute to the UAE’s cultural landscape.

MASTERCLASS WITH STEINWAY PRIZEWINNER ALEKSANDRA ŚWIGUT

In March, students took part in a masterclass led by Steinway Prizewinner Aleksandra Świgut, focusing on musical expression, style, and interpretation. The session encouraged participants to explore the emotional depth of their repertoire, refine their phrasing, and develop a more personal artistic voice. With her thoughtful guidance, Aleksandra created an inspiring space for students to grow as performers and connect more deeply with the music.

FINAL RECITAL & PROJECT CONCLUSION

15 Alumni perform a well-balanced concert program showcasing their growth, musicality, and technical progress.
The event is attended by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, the strategic partner of the project.

PARTICIPATION IN ART DUBAI 2025

In April, Piano Camp students had the prestigious opportunity to be featured at Art Dubai 2025, one of the region’s leading international art fairs. As part of this globally recognized event, the students performed in a cultural setting that brings together artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts from around the world. Their participation showcased the role of music within the broader arts community and demonstrated the talent and artistic potential of young Emirati musicians. This experience provided the students with valuable exposure, boosted their confidence, and highlighted the importance of integrating music into cross-disciplinary cultural platforms.

1st STEINWAY PIANO COMPETITION GCC

In April 2025, Piano Camp students proudly took part in the inaugural Steinway Piano Competition GCC, marking their debut in one of the Gulf region’s most prestigious classical music events. Open to gifted young pianists from across the Gulf, the competition provided a high-level platform for students to showcase the knowledge, skills, and artistry they developed during the six-month program.

For the first time, a special category was introduced exclusively for Emirati students, representing a significant milestone in regional cultural inclusion. As part of this category’s requirements, participants performed a piece of Arabic music, celebrating their heritage and promoting the integration of regional musical identity within the classical repertoire.

For many Piano Camp students, this competition was their first experience performing at such a professional level—an invaluable opportunity to demonstrate their musical growth, technical ability, and stage presence before an esteemed panel of judges.

Meeting with His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh

In May 2025, a distinguished meeting was held with His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh to honor and celebrate the remarkable success of Piano Camp and its talented participants. This special occasion provided an opportunity to acknowledge the dedication, hard work, and artistic achievements of the young musicians who took part in the program.

His Excellency praised the initiative for its significant contribution to nurturing Emirati musical talent and promoting cultural enrichment within the region. The meeting also highlighted the importance of supporting young artists on their journey towards excellence and fostering a deeper appreciation for classical music among future generations.
